Students interested in pursuing ph.d. or m.s. work
Students mentored by faculty in the environmental sciences at Baylor engage in interdisciplinary research projects involving multiple faculty members from several departments. Faculty expertise includes air and water quality, climate change, environmental toxicology and chemistry, risk assessment, applied ecology, and ecosystem management. Research projects often integrate multiple disciplines, involve laboratory and field studies, and examine factors compromising environmental and human health.
Our lab is seeking motivated individuals who are interested in Environmental Health research. Our research projects span basic science (such as determining mechanisms of action in chemical or toxicological micro environments) to applied technology (such as risk science and policy development). Graduate students are mentored by a diverse group of professionals both inside and outside of Baylor University and graduate with a strong Curriculum Vitae to be competitive in today’s Global Workforce.

Teaching Assistantship (TA) and Research Assistantship (RA) positions are also available. Successful M.S. and Ph.D. applicants will receive competitive stipends, health insurance and other benefits, including a full tuition waiver.

Our lab is seeking motivated undergraduate students at Baylor University who are interested in gaining real-world laboratory experience in the integrated field of Environmental Health research. Successful students are typically hard working, eager to learn, and team players. Each student is assigned a team member mentor who helps design the work week with both individual and group-based project work. Every undergraduate meets with Dr. Christie Sayes on a weekly or biweekly basis.
